Teri goes to a corner and begins praying. Instantly she feels better as she pushes her thoughts to be intertwined into Gods will for her. After praying for 30 minutes, she goes into one of the meditation rooms. And spends the rest of the time meditating on specific scriptures regarding prayer. Someone comes to all of the rooms and tells everyone it is time to go into the sanctuary. Teri immediately gets up and goes to look for Ginny. The church is so packed Teri just finds the first available seat and sits down.
When everyone settles in Sister Kelly gets up and goes to the microphone. She smiles and states, “This is the eve of a new generations revelation with Jesus!” Immediately the excitement tears through the room as cheering and clapping breaks out. Sister Kelly gives the microphone to Deacon Kelly who stands up and then gets on his knees and begins to pray. Every time Teri hears Deacon Kelly pray it always puts her in the mind set of Adam, talking directly to God, when Adam was still in the Garden of Eden. Deacon Kelly’s prayers feels so personal and powerful that everyone knows God is always listening to him. As soon as he finishes he puts the microphone back on the stand and sits back down next to his wife. A well-known pastor stands up, and picks up the microphone.
“This is such an exciting time! I look out and I am so amazed. As I was speaking to a couple of the Pastors here, we can not help but to wonder how wonderful it would be if our congregations could be packed with so many dedicated people. Many times we have to cater to and preach to the ones that are just finding out about God or the ones that know him, but are not willing to do very much about learning more than what we teach about him. To be able to speak to a congregation that we do not have to remind to tithe, read your bible, pray, spend time with God and any other basic foundational work is such an uplifting experience. You all have done my heart well. Thank you for your dedication, willingness, and heart filled desire for the Lord!
Today is the last day and I am excited! When I first was drawn to come, I was not sure what to expect. The pressure to heal, help and save is always a burden that people thrust onto Pastors. We can only do so much. To be here where everyone is taking on this responsibility is absolutely remarkable. God called us all to reach out, yet so few actually heed to his callings. I am indeed very proud of everyone here. After listening to yesterdays huge display of Gods divine power through countless blessing and testimonies, I feel I can do all things requested of me.
Now, the room needs to be divided up. I want those with similar purposes, talents and jobs to sit together. In the front, I want our prayer warriors; behind them, those that will help spread the gospel and plan of salvation in the middle and in the back. In the back, I want those that will heal. If you fit any of these categories you will be on the right side. On the left side--all workers in the middle and back rows and those that are doing several tasks closer to the front. Finally in the front rows everyone else.” Everyone gets up and sits back down with the others doing similar things.
“All those who are called to intercede through prayer, go to the diverse rooms and begin praying.
We need prayer to remove all things and people who desire to hinder or stop us. There is an immediate need of prayer for us to do Gods will. There is a need for prayer to open people hearts and mind toward God. There, of course are several things that we will need intercession on. As you pray allow the Holy Spirit to speak through you. He will speak what thus saith the Lord Jesus. If you feel anything strongly, call it out so others can pray for it as well.
Those that are workers, go out and do what God has called you to do. Whether it is to drive people around, prepare food or even clean up the church. Be proud and do what God is calling you to do. If your task has not yet come, then help someone else get their tasks accomplished. We have a mighty work to be done and unless we really support each other it can take longer than it has to. Let’s not ignore any detail. God has called you specifically to get it done, so do as the lord has put on your heart.
Those that are called to tell the plan of salvation and talk to the lost, I want you all to go in rooms and pray, read, meditate then keep silent and listen. God needs to be able to talk to you and you need to be able to respond accordingly. Finally all healers stay here, spread out and commune with God. You will really need to stay in God’s face. All those with callings outside of these diverse sections please stay where you are.
Although everyone will be broken up, everyone will need to come back together by
The Pastor puts the microphone back on its stand and goes to the section that will spread the plan of salvation. Sister Kelly stands up and brings the microphone to Deacon Kelly who reads relevant verses from the bible. Then everyone gets up and goes out to their various sections. There are five people still in the front row. They look around not sure where they should go or what to do. Sister Burney goes to them and asks each to stand and tell what they are being called to do. Sister Burney’s daughter interprets what is being said. All of them have specific tasks that needed to be accomplished. Sister Burney sends them with the other workers and tells them to help out until their task is started. Then she goes to the back of the sanctuary and meditates on specific scriptures concerning raising the dead. She sits there visualizing herself doing it as she quotes several chapters that she has put into memory.
Sister Burney’s daughter watches everyone. She is amazed at the determination and number of people, recognizing several famous people. She is flabbergasted. She expected, at the most 10-15 people, but there has to be at least 400 people. Ever since she walked through the front doors, the feeling that she has is indescribable. She can feel the love, sincerity, kindness, respect, friendliness and there is something else that she just can not put into words. With so many people she would have expected there to be tension or at least confusion considering there are no set people in charge. Sister Burney’s daughter watches how devoted everyone around her is. Sitting next to her mother she recognizes for the first time just how hard her mother is concentrating and praying.
Looking around she notices all the people around her are speaking to God in diverse ways. Some are silently looking up full of tears as they are praying while others are speaking and quoting scriptures out loud. The deep compassionate concentration makes her feel really close to her mother. This whole time she thought her mother was crazy wanting to come. Although she did not completely understand what was going to happen when she first agreed to come, when she arrived and interpreted some of the things Sister Kelly and her mother were discussing, she could not get away fast enough. But now everything seems so different. With everyone smiling at her, how can she be anything but nice back.
“Oh there you are, can you come in the back and help us!” A lady she went out to eat with asked then hugged her.
“Yeah, sure!” She gets up, and looks back at her mom. Normally she would have stayed by her mothers side, since she does not speak the language, but her mom fits in so nicely here. Staying by her mothers side does not feel necessary. Since she does not have to worry, she follows along. As soon as she gets into the back she can see everyone working together. The feeling of commodore is so strong Sister Burney’s daughter swells up with pride as she walks pass everyone’s delightful yet determined demeanor.
When she is in the operating room, although everyone is suppose to be working together, the tensions can be fierce. The air is so full of pressure with really extreme patients, that it feels dreadful operating at times. When she is not operating, even the nurses and technicians have attitudes since she is a young doctor. They feel they knew more because they have been around longer than her. They do what they are told, but she has to keep a stern eye out to make sure that she is never under-minded. All of the prior hospitals she worked and completed her residency in was not like this at all, but since she changed hospital sites in order to get more operating time the various tensions there is unbearable!
It is easier to just come in bark orders, operate, bark more orders then leave. The relationship between the doctors and the rest of the staff is more like god and worker bee, which makes interactions very tense at times. Since Sister Burney’s daughter is young that only fueled the already tense balance. Sister Burney’s daughter did not only want to be a doctor because both of her parents worked in the field of science, but also to help others. However, at all the hospitals she has worked at the patients are last on the list. It is more about the hospital dynamics.
She is hoping that when she starts working as a brain surgeon that things will be different, also hoping that the staff will be of a different caliber. Sister Burney’s daughter cannot help but to want a work environment like she is experiencing now. Everyone has a job and they are doing things willingly, taking and giving requests. The amazing thing is that everyone is cooperating without anyone getting paid.
Sister Burney’s daughter happily goes to the room to help cook food. They asks if she knows any Eastern specialties. Happily, she looks around to see if she has all the ingredients that she needs, smiling there is only one thing missing and someone quickly volunteers to go get it. She feels great! Normally she is not really a cooker but working with everyone in unison feels terrific. Although she keeps her freshly cleaned hands in the normal upright doctor position, she is still able to wave when she sees Teri walking on by. Teri comes in and gives her a slight hug making sure not to touch her sanitized hands, then leaves the kitchen.
Teri is heading to the nursery to see how Christopher is doing. Peeking in she watches him play a bit. He is trying to climb a small fake rock. He is falling and laughing and trying again with several other children, which makes Teri smile, feeling energized as she leaves to go to another prayer room. Still praying, she walks past a room where young adults and children are praying. At first she looks in and walks on by, but in that quick glance she sees several devoted children praying, which makes her stop mid step and back tracked her steps to look in again. The teenagers and children are praying just as hard as the adults! Teri watches in amazement
One young boy who has to be 12 or 13 reminds her of Little Christopher. With his eyes closed, tears flowing and lifted hands, as he praises God makes Teri’s eyes swell up. She has never thought of Christopher being a leader within a church, but observing this young mans devotion fills Teri thoughts of lil Christopher’s future up full of promise and joy! Automatically Teri begins to pray silently for all of the children in this room and all over the world. She finally turns away to get some tissue. Her tears are streaming rapidly down her cheeks. Everyone is really participating and sincerely calling on God. Teri walks off slowly, still praising God. She grabs some tissue and goes back to the prayer room.
Ten minutes until
When everyone finishes taking the communion, he stands up there with his eyes closed telling everyone to visualize Jesus’ sacrifice, our sins being put on him and removed from us and finally our divine connection with God because of it. He stands up there for at least 15 minutes in silence as everyone allows themselves to draw closer to God. Finally he gives the microphone back to Sister Kelly.
She then asks for the buckets and towels to be passed out to all of the ones called to heal so they can wash the fee of those they will be laboring with. There is a great silence in the room. Warm water is pored and mighty men and women sit on the floor and without hesitation, lovingly wash and pray for everyone with them. It is a humbling experience for those having their feet washed, and those washing their feet.
Ladies that have regular pedicures have never had the full attention and care poured onto them like this before. When getting a pedicure, movements can be robotic in nature and the attention to detail is on the actual nail being polished, if any is given. But today divine care is being poured on everyone’s feet as each healer carefully pours the warm water on each leg and foot. Slowly washing as each movement is meticulously given, all the while they are genuinely praying for each person. Then the healers rinse off each leg and foot with warm scented water.
